What to Do After a Car Accident

An accident can be stressful. Address immediate safety needs first, then take these steps to organize your information and plan repairs for your vehicle.

Put Safety First

Check for injuries and call 911 if anyone needs emergency assistance or there is immediate danger. Move to a safe location if possible and stay clear of traffic.

Gather Information

Exchange names, contact details, insurance information and vehicle details with the other driver. If it is safe, photograph the damage and accident scene. Keep any police report information with your records.

Contact Your Insurance Company

Notify your insurer promptly if you plan to file a claim. Ask about the claims process, required documentation and any steps needed before repairs begin.

Arrange an Estimate and Vehicle Drop-Off

Check Car-Seat Replacement Instructions
